The College Corner Community Club was organized in the spring of 1939 by 25 local businessmen, with the mission to promote and improve community support to make our town a better place to live.

In 1940, the Club built its first lighted ball park in the area at Union School. The ball park was used until 1956, when school expansion forced the Club to find a new location. Land was leased and eventually donated by Clem McClure, south of the Town Grove in early 1957. A new ball diamond was made ready for activities by that June. In 1958 we were host to the Indiana State Fast Pitch Tourney on McClure Field. The Club added a shelter-house in the Town Grove that same year. The Club owns 5.82 acres where the ball diamonds are located. The Club also assists the West College Corner Town Board in maintaining the Town Grove area.

Over the years the Club has sponsored Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts, Halloween Celebrations (60 plus years), youth baseball, softball and soccer and adult softball/church leagues. The 4th of July Celebration was started by Dr. John Hinton in 1981 and a parade added in 1982, which still continues to date.

A grant of $216,000 was awarded to the Community Club by the Union County Foundation’s Lilly Gift Program in late 1998. By the close of 1999, the Club used those funds for concession stand, restrooms, ball park lights, storage building, bleachers, scoreboard, infield renovation, dugouts, fencing, playground equipment, horseshoe pit, volleyball courts, quarter-mile walking path, trash containers, removal of dead trees, planting of new trees, paved drive from Church St. and a new shelter house roof.

In 2014 we celebrated 75 years of organization, we still seek to make College Corner a better place to live by supporting and organizing the Stateline Ball Park activities, 4th of July parade and celebration, Easter Egg Hunt, honoring two outstanding senior athletes of UCHS, organizing and supplying Christmas Baskets for our community and providing recognition dinners for chosen groups, such as Girl Scouts, Union school student council and teachers, fire department members, etc.
